When I’m at leisure to read any book that I want, I should really consider history and biography. I feel like I haven’t done good, hard non-fiction justice. Every paper I write, though, I get sucked into my research way more than is necessary because the books are just so darn interesting.

So I’ve been doing pretty well at keeping up with all my schoolwork this semester. Insanely so. I’m nearly five weeks in, and I’ve completed every reading assignment on time. And today, I wrote a paper that isn’t due until Thursday. Whoa, right?
I am however, skeptical that this will continue. In fact, I was thinking today about how unnecessary it really is for me to read everything. I could get away without a lot of it – and then think how much time I’d have to do things like clean, learn photoshop, make money.
That would be cool.

The BEST THING TO HAPPEN ALL WEEK
I was wishing the other day that there was some way I could avoid shopping this week. Buying the kinds of food I’m going to be wanting this week makes me feel a smidge guilty. Plus, it costs money which is no good to spend. I was imagining a case of ramen noodles dropping into my lap magically.
And then, this afternoon, something better happened. There was a huge box with my name on it in the mail room and it had all kinds of good things in it. I had to fish around in an ocean of pink packing peanuts to get it all outa thur.
The final tally:
- 3 ziplock containers of cookies
- 3 Dr. Peppers
- a box of crackers
- cheez whiz
- peppermint lip balm
- $20
- 3 packs of fruit snacks
- 2 microwaveable soup bowls
- post-it notes
- 2 of those mini breadsticks and cheese snacks
- 2 small jellos
- 2 small applesauces
- holiday paper plates and napkins
- $10 Subway card
Proof that my mom isn’t awfully mad that I’m getting married/there’s still hope for the world.
*happy half-birthday*

I want to be like this guy.
When I’m grown up and I write books, I will refuse to be published unless I can get my face to take up the entire back cover. It’s going to be so good.
Maybe I’ll write socialistic Pan-African critiques on western education, too.
*note for future*
